La Serenissima

...I wanted the woman to be Bianca Solderini (a character from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bianca_S…), but somehow she didn't turn out as I wanted. Maybe I'll try to capture her correctly another time.
But still there is Marius de Romanus in the background My favourite character appearing in The Vampire Chronicles as well
And the title is a name for the Republic of Venice, from the title Serenissimo literally meaning 'the most/very serene'.


...I can write it honestly: portraits are the most difficult manipulations. I had to pay attention to every detail... And her hair was the worst part (I was redoing it three times and finally left this version). I really enjoyed putting together the background and repainting her mask, gloves and corset, though. And working with textures (even if it isn't visible now as I blurred the background ) is a really nice experience, maybe in the future I'll try to use them even more.
